ONE Nordic uses InRule process automation as a strategic platform in its daily work. In just a few weeks, the company can create and develop applications that streamline various processes in its operations.
The fact that we can quickly and effectively fill gaps in our business processes without any major consulting input is a strength in itself.
Anders Gustafsson, IT operations developer at ONE Nordic.
ONE Nordic is one of Sweden’s leading suppliers of technical services, contracting, and maintenance in the energy and industrial sectors. Since 2005, the company has partnered with InRule, and its former platform where the focus was on document management, quality management systems, and workflow. A couple of years ago, ONE Nordic started using InRule’s new platform while also starting to develop its own applications to systematize business processes. Where other IT systems did not meet their needs for efficiency, Barium Live acted as a gap filler.
Our experience today is that IT development can be costly and time-consuming, but with InRule process automation, we can build simpler applications from the bottom up without major consultancy input. It could, for example, be a question of replacing administrative tools, such as Excel, and, instead, offer the business an application based on a controlled process. This enables better process compliance and follow-up. With all processes gathered in one place, we’re also able to see what’s missing in order to further streamline our business processes.
Anders Gustafsson, IT operations developer at ONE Nordic.
Today, ONE Nordic can react quickly to changes since the lead time from idea to the executable application only takes a few weeks. They’ve gone from managing processes manually to developing them in InRule process automation. In the future, this has enabled an agile way of working for ONE Nordic’s operations.
We use InRule process automation as support for all of our staff. It concerns administrative processes in HR, IT, Legal Affairs, Purchasing, and Finance. It has been very valuable to go back and make minor changes in applications along the way and then update and run them again.

TAILOR-MADE SYSTEMS BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE BUSINESS
InRule’s platform is based on a “low-code” concept, which gives customers the opportunity to create applications without code, but where necessary, it’s possible to add code and logic to support advanced or customer-specific needs. With the help of model-driven design and visual development, such as drag-and-drop functions, users can get a graphic overview with great opportunities to customize systems, based on the needs of the business.
We constantly strive for our users to avoid lengthy IT projects and in-house development. We want them to be able to create their own applications more rapidly without major consultancy input. Of course, we’re present as support along the way, but the goal is that they, themselves, can control the development.
Tobias Andersson, InRule
Anders Gustafsson at ONE Nordic believes there is always a continuing need for process development, but that the company has great opportunities to continue to fill the gaps with the help of a system such as InRule’s.
Working in an agile fashion means constantly seeing new opportunities and that’s why we see a future together with InRule. Since developing new applications goes so incredibly fast while, at the same time, giving us higher quality and better efficiency in our processes, it’s easy to calculate the development cost. The mere fact that we, ourselves, can create and revise applications on the platform is a major acknowledgment that it’s a very cost-effective solution, taking our business processes steadily forward.
